David Simpson Apps was founded in 2003 by David Simpson, initially delivering custom Atlassian Confluence and Jira solutions for enterprise clients including AT&T, Netflix, Coca-Cola and Zynga. Those engagements shaped a recurring insight: the same integration and automation problems kept appearing across organisations, and the solutions were always bespoke. So we shifted from consultancy to building reusable marketplace apps.

Today we publish apps on the monday.com Marketplace, the Atlassian Marketplace and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem – serving over 40 million users across more than 240 countries. In 2025 we were named monday.com Community Partner of the Year.

Selected Projects

AT&T
Confluence upgrade and "pluginisation" of internal customisations – migrating bespoke modifications into supported Atlassian apps. The project also integrated Atlassian Confluence with IBM/HCL Connections, connecting knowledge management with AT&T's enterprise social collaboration platform.
Atlassian
Authoring Atlassian Jira/Confluence developer documentation and code samples e.g. for soy templating.
Broadcom / CA Technologies
Huge multi-version & multi-language documentation site built on Atlassian Confluence – the technical foundation of Broadcom/CA Technologies' DocOps initiative to modernise their product documentation at scale.
Coca-Cola
Global intranet built on Atlassian Confluence, with custom features including partial page templates, custom macros and user-facing tools designed for a multinational workforce. One of the more architecturally complex Confluence projects we've delivered, spanning multiple business units and regions.
Electronic Arts
Migration and consolidation of several Atlassian Jira and Confluence instances.
IBM
Custom development & app integrations.
Netflix
Partner collaboration portal built on Atlassian Confluence, with custom features for managing content, permissions and workflows across Netflix's external partner network – handling the security and usability requirements of a global content ecosystem.
Roche
Atlassian Confluence upgrade & custom development.
Zynga
Intranet and collaboration platform built on Atlassian Confluence during a period of rapid expansion and acquisition. Multiple studios and acquired companies were standardised onto a single Confluence instance, consolidating fragmented content and tools into one shared platform.
