V2.123.0

This release brings some useful new functionality to the app, but it will require some manual permissions changes are needed by both the monday.com and Microsoft 365 administrators.

We really don’t like changing scopes/permissions because it can be disruptive, so will bundle two app permission changes together for this release.

What's changing?

This release has the following changes:

A new automation block

Updated automation blocks

Automation blocks which send emails can now output the Email Message ID for use with the new automation block (and others)

For these automation blocks to output the Email Message ID, we need to add the Mail.ReadWrite permission in Microsoft 365 (which allows the app to create a draft email first, get the message ID, then send the email)

Also, in a future update, we’re adding the ability to create calendar events in calendars for shared inboxes.

For this we will need to add the Calendars.ReadWrite.Shared permission in Microsoft 365, so we're adding that now to prevent further future disruption.

What this means to you

Basically, this is what will happen when the new release “drops” on July 15:

  • Existing automation blocks will retain the old permissions, and continue to work using the old permissions
  • New automation blocks will need to be authenticated with Microsoft 365 to pick up the new permissions
  • The new permissions will require approval by a Microsoft 365 administrator at adminconsent.m365.app

What you need to do

We’ll be making the above change on July 15, 2026, so if you are not a Microsoft 365 administrator yourself, you will need to contact your Microsoft 365 administrator and ask them to complete the admin consent on that date to allow any new automations or workflows to work successfully.

  • Users will be notified via an in-app banner highlighting the updated scopes for monday.com permissions
  • Your Microsoft 365 administrator will need to repeat the admin consent screen at adminconsent.m365.app
